Millie Tucker

This project was about making Millie Tucker feel more high-end and special while keeping the warmth, familiarity, and personal service that made the shop beloved to begin with.

Millie Tucker already had what most brands are trying to build: loyal customers, a strong reputation, and a shopping experience people genuinely love. The problem was that the brand and website weren’t doing that reputation justice. The visual identity felt outdated and limited, and the website was difficult to shop, update, and use as the business continued to grow.

The new brand and Shopify website were created to make Millie Tucker feel as considered online as it does in store — easier to recognize, easier to shop, and better equipped to support everything from everyday gifts to wedding registries.

Brand Strategy

Before any visuals were created, I built a full brand strategy to clarify how Millie Tucker should look, sound, and show up. This included audience, positioning, personality, voice, values, and core messaging, with a focus on what already made the shop different.

Millie Tucker offers brands and pieces customers can’t find anywhere else in Edmond, along with a personal shopping experience that makes gifting and registry feel easier and more special. The strategy centered on that balance: high-end and curated, but still warm, helpful, and familiar. It shaped the direction for the logo, visual identity, photography, website, and messaging.

Visual Identity

I wanted the full identity to be more polished, high-end, and easier to use across the brand. The palette builds from a deep navy foundation, with gold and softer blues adding warmth, contrast, and a more layered look.

The bird mark became a subtle pattern for packaging, print pieces, and website details, giving the brand a recognizable element beyond the logo. I paired that with elegant, classic typography and photography guidelines focused on clean styling, thoughtful details, warm lighting, and imagery that still reflects the personal nature of the shop.'

Brand Photography

For the photography, I focused on getting a small set of images that would round out the new website and make the online shop easier to browse. We captured simple category-focused shots that could help organize the shopping experience, add more visual interest to the site, and connect the online store back to the real Millie Tucker experience.

The Website

For the Shopify website, I focused on making the online shop easier to use, easier to manage, and more aligned with the new brand. I curated imagery throughout the site, adjusted the categories to better match how customers browse, and improved the overall flow so buying online or choosing local pickup was more straightforward.

I also brought the brand pillars from the strategy into the copywriting, giving the site clearer language around Millie Tucker’s personal service, curated selection, and registry experience. The registry section needed a stronger system too, so I reworked that part of the site to give customers better guidance from the start.

With added functionality like a wishlist app, email integration, and a smoother local pickup process, the final site gave Millie Tucker a more polished online presence and a better shopping experience for both customers and the team behind the store.
